Vision

As these last couple of days of the semester wind down, I realize how close I am to graduating from Baruch. I have been setting up Goals for my Life...Life after Baruch. Here is a list of some:
  1. I would like to own a house by the time I move out of my parent's house.
  2. I would like to be able to balance my career with my family, while putting more of a focus on my family.
  3. I would like to be able to travel to many different places

Right now, I live at home with my parents which is a great convenience because I don't have many expenses. This allows me to focus on my studies. Living in a house has spoiled me, and now that I will be graduating soon, I would like to move into my own house because of the comfort and privacy.

By the time my career actually sets off, I would like to start my own family. I have always been one to value family and I know how hard it must be to focus on raising my children while trying to build my career. So I will have to try and find some balance in order to make it work.

Another goal is to travel. I have always wanted to see different countries; from Europe to Asia, etc.

In order to make all of this happen, I will focus on what I have learned/will learn from my Education as well as taking my parents' example in how they are able to balance their careers while finding time to spoil my brothers and me. As far as traveling goes, my successful career will have to take care of that.

Well, after I finish reading your entry, I noticed that having a good family is the most things important in your life. However, I just don’t understand why you put family in the first place because most guys that I know like to put career as their most important thing in their life. So, I am sure you would want to get marry and have lots of kids after you graduated from college right? Haha………

I strongly agree with you that family education plays a very important role in one's life. You are so lucky that you were born in a happy family. I think this luck will with you, so you can make a happy family yourself...

I think for one to be able to keep on pursuing his/her visions in the long run, the family support is very important. The importance of the family is far beyond one can imagine before he/she can realize. I am glad to see you as a male who values family's importance as much as I do. My family is the drive to most of my visions, and I hope it will always be that way to you as well.

I'd first like to say Congratulations on graduating from Baruch! Your vision is very realistic which much more respectable.

I agree with moving out of parent's house. I also live with my parents and can also say that I have been spoiled. On the other hand, we can benefit by focusing on our studies, like you said, but also saving our money for the future.

I also believe family is very important and is an aspect overlooked in today's society. I wold actually wait a few years before starting a family. I would feel safer knowing that I have a career I can make a living from.

Hi

You really suprised me, you are one of the few men who love family before anything else. This is a great value you have place in your life. I wish i have the type of family you have because of how you have described your home. It seems you have a wonderful home and I am very sure you will make a good home because you have experience one. But, i hope you have provision for them. GoodLuck!

I love your visions, because they are something I truly agree with. Having your own house, close family, and traveling are something that I am passionate about. If I die with those under my belt, I could say that would be my ultimate satisfaction. Especially if I've found happiness.

Hey Kevin, It was interesting to look at your blog for the vision post. You have a nice dream to have your house by the time you graduate and maintain privacy. I think that you should also do your homework regarding ownership of your properly. You are an accounting major and I know that to manage your financial well but still have a thought. You are lucky that you are living with your family and have no expenses for your early life as a student.
