"Shadow Insight"

You are probably wondering to yourself why I chose "Shadow Insight" as my title, so I will explain. My biggest hobby has to be my Self-Defense classes. These classes focus on Ninjitsu, the ancient fighting art of old Japan. Although we learn different fighting techniques and ways to defend ourselves, martial arts is much more than this. It teaches a way of living. Our Student Creed is "Enlightenment of the Spirit; Strengthening of the Mind and Body; Preservation of Life." I believe that strengthening the Mind is one of the more important parts, which is why I strongly believe in education. I look forward to a great semester with you all.
Before I end this post, I'd like to leave you with this quote by Karen Eden; I believe it depicts the type of Management I would like to strengthen:
"I Am A Martial Artist
'I am a martial artist.' I see through different eyes. I see a bigger picture when others see grey skies. Though many can't conceive it, I stand...facing the wind. My bravery, not from fighting, but from my strength within. I am a martial artist. I'll walk the extra mile. Not because I have to, but because it's worth my while. I know that I am different, when I stand on a crowded street. I know the fullness of winning, I've tasted the cup of defeat. I am a martial artist. They say I walk with ease. Though trained for bodily harm, my intentions are for peace. The world may come and go, but a different path I'll choose. A path I will not stray from, no matter, win or lose."

Hello Kevin. It is nice to see you again at Baruch College. I do not know you like martial art. Well, go kick some butts in this class, not literally but mentally and academically. There are more butts to kick in life after college graduation, so stay silently, swiftly, mysteriously, honorably, ethically, and surprisingly like a ninja.

Go kick butt!

Your friend and classmate, Joey Fong.

Hello,

I am in complete agreement that with studies we should have a skill which should help us prepare for life.

Ofcourse, Martial Arts prepares us to defend ourselves and is such a good way to remain active

Hi Kevin,
It was interesting to read your blog. I didn't know that we have some one in clas that likes martial art. By the way are you professional in martial art or just a hobby. Anyway, i am sure that it will help you for your defence and keep you fit.

See you in class

That's very cool that you practice martial arts. I have practiced Thai boxing and Aikido before. But ever since college, I haven't had the time to keep up with it. Now I just jog and go to the gym to stay in shape.

Good luck!
